My cousin, who is a topnotch doctor, recently made me aware of her concern over high salt intake. My parents, although they have taught me the important power of salt in the making of Indian dishes, have also helped ingrain in my head that salt is indeed a villain. I then read an indicting article on the two-faced mineral, regarding blood pressure and health in general. Now I'm reading an article about how kids are increasingly getting kidney stones, and salt is one of the cited leading factors?
Salt, I love you. I can't live without you. So why you gotta scare the shit out of me?

Don't be scurred! Sodium is vital to our survival, it's just bad news when it's over-consumed (as are alcohol and fossil fuels).
Please, for everyone else's sake, continue to season your food adequately (while avoiding processed foods).
